• Import class rosters from a spreadsheet or csv file
• Display the student's preferred name
• Designate if any students should or should not sit in front
• Designate desks that should not be used when randomizing seats
• Designate students that should not be moved when randomizing seats
• Designate which desks will be in the same group if your groups are seating chart based
• Randomization is "optimized" by:
• Running 200 trials each time the random button is clicked
• Keeping track of the minimum distance any (non-locked) student has moved from their last saved position for each trial
• Choosing the trial that maximizes this minimum distance
• This effectively eliminates the common complaint from students that they are in the same desk
• Of course, any students you had designated to stay in the same spot will remain there.
• Separate feature to randomize groups based on students present that day
